Shawna is out at Canada’s Biggest All Ladies Beer Festival put on by the Society of Beer Drinking Ladies. I thought this would be a fantastic opportunity to finally write up the preview for another really awesome event: Sessions Craft Beer Festival.
We attend every year and always end up having a fantastic time. I remember last year being blown away by B J Johnson who won the collaboration nation as a representative of Sawdust City.
I should back up a bit.
Sessions is an annual event that takes place once a year at Yonge Dundas Square. While it had been owned by Griffin Events it was recently acquired by Taps Events, a part of Taps Media. While it looks like most of the aspects of the event we know and love will stay the same, it’s possible there might be a change or two with new ownership.
This year the event takes place on June 9th.
Back to what I was talking about: one of the highlights of the event is Collaboration Nation, a contest with a simple premise: make a collaboration beer with a celebrity. Serve it at the event. Use festival goers try the beer and vote on our favourite. The winning beer gets a guaranteed slot in the LCBO.
This usually guarantees some celebrities will be serving beer and it also means there will be great beer to try.
Along with that you’ll also get lots of great live music, fun games and more.
We love it every year and we recommend checking it out yourself! Tickets are still available and can be found by clicking here.
