August 6, 2015 | Kole McRae | Leave a comment You know what? I really like Bell City. They are a brand new brewery and the started with a cream ale, which is a nice departure from the standard IPA most new craft breweries start with. Not only that, they now have a Belgian ale, which is my favourite style of beer. I used to live in Brantford, where they are based, and it would have been nice if these guys were around back then. Brantford isn’t exactly known for their great beer scene (YET!) Maybe these guys will change that. I should preface this review by saying I was a bit past the normal ‘too drunk to write beer notes’ stage when I wrote these beer notes, so they might be a bit off. Sadly it does not look like this is available at the LCBO but it sits at a nice respectable 6.5% ABV, though you wouldn’t know it from the taste. Appearance: Dark brown almost red colour with thin white head. Aroma: hoppy with a Spicy backend. Taste: Hoppy but with lots of Spicy back bone. Cinnomen and cloves mingled with tropical fruits. Aftertaste: Hardcore cloves. Overall: Impressive. Author Recent Posts Kole McRaeFounder of Toronto Booze Hound. He can be seen drinking almost anything in the wild from beer to rum.
