I generally write about spirits and beer here on the blog. Shawna is the one who usually takes on the ciders and wines. Though she has been bugging me to review a cider, so here I am!
The fine people behind Premium Near Beer – a website where you can buy from a HUGE range of non-alcholic products here in Toronto, were kind enough to send us some samples of their wares. One of those samples was Spirit Tree’s Sparkling Apple Cider.
While I am certainly a booze hound, it is nice to try a non-alcoholic variant once in a while. Not to mention there are plenty of people out there who can’t have or choose not to have alcoholic drinks. They deserve fully flavoured drinks too!
The sparkling cider is pressed on-site and uses 100% Ontario grown apples. This drink would be perfect for a patio on these (finally) warm days!
This cider is non-alcoholic and is currently unavailable but should be popping up at the cidery soon.
Appearance: Bright gold with pure white head. Filtered.
Aroma: Very tart with tropical fruits.
Taste: Not as tart as expected. Dry for sure but with some sweetness deep down. The apples are nice and ripe. Hints of pear.
Aftertaste: None at all.
Overall: Amazing.
