During this crazy time, many people may lean into standard beers that they love. Beers that have always been there for them.
Me? I found some new ones.
One of those new “standards” is for sure Faces, an IIPA from Wellington Brewery. A hop bomb brewed with Citra (a favourite of mine) and Mosaic hops.
This beer has been a great companion during this quarantine. It’s helped me as I played Ticket to Ride, Exploding Kittens (shown in the background), Cribbage and all the other games Shawna and I are using to help keep us entertained in ways that aren’t just watching hours of Netflix or Prime.
Sadly this beer is sold out from their online store but lots is available via the LCBO. It sits at a strong 8.5% ABV and costs $4.85 per can shown above.
Appearance: Hazy orange juice look. Pure white head that lasts.
Aroma: Tangerine, mango and pairs.
Taste: Super fruity. Pineapple, oranges and a bit of pine. Quite the hop bomb.
Aftertaste: Pine.
Overall: My go-to for the quaranteen.
Pair with: Spicy Indian food.
