logo-torontoWinter is generally a drought when it comes to great craft beer festivals. Yes, we have Winter Beer Fest which is awesome, but it’s outdoors and the temperatures distract me from truly enjoying the fine craft beer on offer.

In enters Brewfest!

The creators of Brewfest are known for their similarly named event that takes place yearly in Ottawa.

This year is their first time holding the event in Toronto and they are shooting for the moon. The event takes place at the Enercare center on February 19th and 20th. That’s right, it’s going to be indoors!

There will be more than 100 craft beers on offer at the event from breweries all across North America (including a few imports from around the world!)

You can also expect live music and great food.

This year will also feature the ‘Dream Keg!’ You can read the press release here. Basically if you try the two beers listed you’ll be donating money directly to the Holland Bloorview Foundation.

Ticket prices are pretty average for this kind of event, with $30 getting you a two day pass that includes an official sampling glass. It looks like most samples will be 2 to 4 tickets which are $1 each.

A few tips:

This event is CASH ONLY. While there will probably be an ATM on site, avoid the line and just bring cash!

Unlike some beer festivals, this event is 19+ only. You can not bring children.

For those not so into beer there will be wine, spirits and cider available.

Have fun everyone!
